Who doesnโ€™t like luncheon meat?

We all know canned food is high in sodium and preservative that regularly consumed might affect our health. ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ But we just couldnโ€™t resist to eat it, especially luncheon meat!

Luncheon meat is so tasty to eat with fried rice, egg, noodle and sandwich! Do you know we can make it at home? It taste 80% like the canned one, and it is healthier and most importantly, it is kid friendly!

Ingredients A โ€“

30g Flour / ้ข็ฒ‰

30g Corn Starch / ็Ž‰็ฑณ็ฒ‰

2 Egg whites / ไธคไธช่›‹็™ฝ

40g water / ๆธ…ๆฐด

Mixed all ingredients into a smooth batter.

Ingredient B -

500g minced meat / ็Œช่‚‰็ขŽ (preferably with some fat)

1 piece of green onion (only the white part, finely chopped) / ไธ€ๆฎต่‘ฑ็™ฝๅˆ‡ๆœซ

1 piece of young ginger (finely chopped) / ไธ€ๅฐๅ—ๅงœๅˆ‡ๆœซ

Seasoning -

1 tsp of Sea salt/ ๆตท็›ไธ€่ŒถๅŒ™

2 tsp of @double_happiness_singapore Classic Chicken Broth Powder / 2่ŒถๅŒ™้ธก่‚‰้ซ˜ๆฑค็ฒ‰

A few dash of white pepper / ็™ฝ่ƒกๆค’ๅฐ‘่ฎธ

1 tbsp of cooking oil / ๆฒนไธ€ๆฑคๅŒ™

1 tbsp of Soy Sauce / ้…ฑ้’ไธ€ๆฑคๅŒ™ (optional, omit for kid version)

1 tbsp of Oyster Sauce / ่šๆฒนไธ€ๆฑคๅŒ™ (optional, omit for kid version)

Method -

Mixed ingredients A into ingredients B in a big bowl. Use a chopstick to stir the minced meat in one direction (circular movement) until the mixture become sticky. Put into mold (you may use non-grease small cake mould or an empty canned), cover with food wrap or aluminum foil, high heat steam for 20 minutes. Wait until it is cold down before cutting (you may put into fridge for one night before cutting too).
